NOBLE, Elizabeth Jane ''Betty''
Betty (Geary) Noble passed peacefully from this life to her next at the age of 86 in Yuba City, Calif. She is survived by her son Daryl Noble (Dottie) of Yuba City, and daughter, Beth Noble (Steve) Jones of Sacramento. She also leaves behind four beloved grandchildren, Jon Noble (Veronica) of Bremerton, Wash., and Tess Noble of Yuba City, and Evan Jones and Michaela Jones of San Francisco. Betty was born in Carbondale, Pa., in 1923 and raised in Elmira, N.Y. She married Lon in 1948 and they followed her parents, who preceded her in death, Earl and Edna Geary, to Sacramento in 1951 and made their first home there in River Park. Betty and Lon relocated to Colusa, Calif., where they purchased a Foremost Dairy distributorship in 1959 and lived there until 2002, when they moved to The Courtyard in Yuba City. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi and a loving, vivacious, friend to many. She loved to travel, laugh, read, play bridge and watch TV late into the night. A faithful Methodist all her life, she helped to pass her faith on to her children and grandchildren. She gave many hours to the community, including those as the first woman chairman of the Colusa County Grand Jury. She will be remembered for her twinkling eyes, sweet giggle, ready smile, kind words and the best ginger snaps ever baked. She was a mother of all mothers and a wife of all wives. We miss her but know she now resides in the peaceful arms of Her Father in Heaven, along with her beloved Lon. There is a memorial planned for Sunday, November 29, at 12:00 noon at Trinity United Methodist Church in Colusa (Sacramento Bee, Sacramento, California, October 14, 2009).
