George Burns Melick, Sr., was born on 11 April 1905 in New Jersey.4,2,3 He and Florence Ethel Rinehart were married on 30 September 1935 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He died on 13 July 1954, at age 49.4 He was buried in New Germantown Cemetery, Oldwick, Hunterdon, New Jersey.4
George Burns Melick, Sr., was a Farm Manager.2

Biography

Ruth Alberta Smith was born on 26 December 1917 in South Plainfield, Middlesex, New Jersey.2 She and George Crater Rinehart were married on 19 December 1939 in Oldwick, Hunterdon, New Jersey. She died on 10 March 2013, at age 95, in Flemington, Hunterdon, New Jersey.
Ruth A Rinehart, 95, of Flemington, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington.

Born in South Plainfield, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Myrtle Smith.

Ruth lived in Oldwick for more than 40 years before moving to Whitehouse Village in 1998 and then Independence Manor in Flemington two-and-one-half years ago.

Ruth and her husband George owned Bosenbury Farm for more than 40 years. Although she was a very active participant in its day-to-day operations, she was also a supportive mother to her two children as well as a skilled homemaker. She was also a very active member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Oldwick, NJ.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband, George, in 1979; her sister, Aretta Janes, and her granddaughter, Lynelle Day Rinehart.

She is survived by her son, John Rinehart and his wife, Phyllis of Branchburg; her daughter, Sara Peterson and her husband, Alvin of Clinton; her brothers, Raymond and Kenneth Smith; her sister, Mildred Runyon; and her grandchildren, Shelly Larson, Michael Sharp and Erin Rinehart.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, 35 Old Turnpike Road, Oldwick.

The family has requested donations to be made in her name to the Zion Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 41, Oldwick, NJ 08858.
