Mary C. Bartling, 96, of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 201 6 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama under the care of Hospice Compassus , Cedar Falls. There will be no public services.

Mary was born on February 18, 1920, in Montour, Iowa, the daughter of Eugene N. and Jennie C. (Halverson) Faught.

Mary was united in marriage to Kenneth M. McFate in Tama and they had three children. She later married Roger W. Bartling on August, 8, 1953. Mary enjoyed gardening, riding in her red Firebird, her pets, hunting mushrooms, and camping at Red Rock.

Mary is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, Roger W. Bartling of Toledo; three children, Noel (Paul) Duffy of Tama, Michael (Suzanne) McFate of Reinbeck, and Kenne Wolf of Tama; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren; and one brot her, Roy Vibbard of Marshalltown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; one sister; one great granddaughter; one great-great granddaughter; and one son-in-law, Dick Wolf.
The family would like to thank Dr. Wille of Tama for the care provided to Mary throughout the years. She will be sadly missed.She will be sadly missed.
Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Duane Edward “Butch” Noe, age 70, of Tama, passed away, Friday December 31, 2010 at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at Sheridan Cemetery in rural Malcom. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2011 from 4-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.

Duane was born on September 21, 1940, in Tama, Iowa, the son of Edward and Velma (McFate) Noe. He attended Tama Schools. Duane served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

On September 16, 1967, he was united in marriage to Betty Nieman at the Tama Methodist Church. Butch owned and operated Butch’s Body Shop in Tama for forty years. Prior to that, he worked for Cessford Construction, the Ford Garage in Toledo and drove truck for Bituminous Material & Supply. He was a member of the National Street Rodders Association and collected A.C. garden tractors. Butch enjoyed camping, road trips, making things for his grandchildren and spending time with them.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and half sister, Betty Culver.

Survivors include his wife, Betty of Tama; two sons, Terry (Charity) Noe of Newton and Dennis (Alison) Noe of Tama; four grandchildren, Madison, Lane, Parker and Andrew; and one sister, DeVee Noe Wandling * of Montezuma.
