James E.Gerard,80,of Route 517,Allamuchy Township,died Sunday in Morristown Memorial Hospital after a ling illness.He was employed as a carpenter by Aramco Corp.,Saudia Arabia,for many years and also in Guiana,South America,for many years.He retired in 1965.Born July 24,1902,in Hackettstown,he was a son of the late James and Mertie Parks Gerard.Mr.Gerard was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Cataract Hose Co,No.1both of Hackettstown;Hackettstown Fire Department,Allamuchy Rod and Gun Club and Carpenters Union Local 620,Madison N.J.
Surviving are his wife,the former Roberta Hamilton;a son, William of Hackettstown;two sisters,Mrs.Mabel Schoening,Bricktown,N.J.,and Mrs.Helen Apgar,Bound Brook,N.J.,and three grandchildren.Services will be held at 1:30 p.m.Thursday in the Cochran Funeral Home,Hackettstown.Interment will be in Tranquility Cemetery.

Funeral services were held Aug 26 in the Cochran Funeral Home,Hackettstown,for James E.Gerard,80,of Allamuchy,who died Aug.22 in Morristown Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Hackettstown,he was employed as a carpenter by Aramco Corp.,Saudia Arabia,for many years and also in Guiana,South America,for many years.Mr Gerard retired in 1965.
