Dorothy was born on the family homestead in Hobart Township Valley City, ND. She was an active member of the Eagles for 55 years. She loved to go camping and to work in her flower gardens. She enjoyed puzzles and would spend many happy hours working on a puzzle. She enjoyed her hummingbird feeders, watching the birds as they would feed at the feeder. She worked at Nalley's Fine Foods in the chip plant for a number of years, and retired from there. Dorothy worked for the Puyallup Fair for over 20 years. She attended Mass at St. Columban of Yelm faithfully.
After the passing of her husband Don, she cared for herself and was very self-sufficient.
She is survived by sons Warren Loendorf (Bev), Donald Wintermute (Kay), Leslie (Bud) Wintermute (Edie), daughter Patricia Sorensen (Jim), sisters and brothers Inez Driscoll of Billings, MT, Katherine Kvislen (Carl) of Finley, ND, Joseph Loendorf (Mavis) of Valley City, ND. She has 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by brothers Lawrence Loendorf, Gene Loendorf, sisters Florence Kvislen, Clara Schilling, Doris Loendorf, and a grandson, Dean Sorensen.
The service will be held at 3pm Thursday, June 10, 2010 in the Mountain View Valley Chapel. Please make memorial donations to the Heart Fund or the Cancer Fund in her name.

Florence Lucille (Lucy) Wintermute
Florence Lucille (Lucy) WIntermute was born on September 14, 1943 in Terre Haute, Indiana and went to be with the Lord on January 30, 2013. Lucy's Parents were Virgil and Bessie (Smith) Carlyle. She was the oldest of eight children. She is survived by her three children Teresa Varnes, Shelly (Shawn) Caskin and Les Wintermute II, her sisters Norma Kearcher, Gladys Arndt, Sharon Shephard and brothers Floyd Carlyle and Mike Carlyle. Lucy is preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Bessie Carlyle and sisters Tiny Arthur and Jackie Stevens. Lucy has 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Lucy and her oldest child Teresa moved to Tacoma, Washington in 1965, where Lucy started working at the Elks Club as a waitress. While working at the Elks Club, Lucy met and was married to Bud Wintermute for 12 years.
Lucy was a long time resident of Gig Harbor for over 43 years and worked as a cashier, waitress and bartender. She was a collector of angels and an avid bingo player.
Lucy was a kind, caring and compassionate person who would give the shirt off her back if someone else needed it more. She was always there for everyone whether it was a shoulder to cry on or for someone needing a place to stay, she always opened her home and her heart.
Lucy will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She touched the lives of all the people she met and she was always a joy to be around. She always had a smile and knew what to say to make people smile and laugh.
