William R. Oswin, Sr. passed away at home on Friday, April 2, 2010. He was 72 years of age. Visitation will be held on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St. Wharton, and Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until a 12 noon funeral service. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Chatham. Offer condolences at www.BerminghamFH.com. Born in Montclair, Mr. Oswin was raised in Chatham and moved to the Succasunna section of Roxbury in 1962. Mr. Oswin retired in 1995 as vice president of the Bank of New York at the Lakeside Shopping Center, Jefferson Township, after 35 years of service. He was past president of the Jefferson Township Rotary Club and received the Paul Harris Fellow Award. He was a former member of the Long Hill Chapel in Chatham. After his retirement he and his wife, Eileen, enjoyed traveling the country in their motor home. Predeceased by his brother, Kenneth, in 1997, he is survived by his wife of 53 years, Eileen Wintermute; daughter, Patricia Oswin Hill and Christian Evans of Sparta; two sons, Eric Oswin Sr. and his wife, Deborah of Byram Twp.; William R. Oswin Jr. and his wife, Teresa, of Stillwater; also survived by six grandchildren, Holly Hill, William III, Christopher, Douglas, Eric Jr., and Katherine Oswin.
