Joseph R. Lyons, 71, passed away August 27, 2011. He was born in Sunbury, Pa. to the late Joseph and Evelyn (Snyder) and was an Akron resident for much of his life.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of (formerly) Annunciation Catholic Church. He also worked at Goodyear, for 10 years at Hillside Memorial Park and for 20 years at Spano Brothers Construction.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his son, Lance. He is survived by his sons, Lee and Loren; sisters, Jacqueline and Jeannette; brothers, John, Jim and Jerry; and close friends, Drema and Barbara.
Military honors will be given on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Rittman, OH 44270.
