Word has been received here of the death of Fred M. Hopkins, former U,S, commissioner of patents, at noon yesterday in Chevy Chase, Md. Mr. Hopkin's daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Biebel, is the wife of a Dayton patent attorney. Other survivors are his wife, Charlotte, and two grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday in Washington, D.C. He was educated in University of Michigan in 1903 University of Michigan/George Washington University, Washington, D.C.
