WARREN -- Duane C. Wybourn, 69, of Warren died Friday, March 26, 2004, at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport.
He was born Dec. 1, 1934, in Kent, the son of William and Doris (Schubert) Wybourn. He married Darla Sigafus Dec. 20, 1958, in Lena.
He worked for Burgess Battery for 30 years and then Thermos Manufacturing for 20 years. He was a member of Warren United Methodist Church and served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. He also was a member of the Freshwater Fisherman's Hall of Fame.
He enjoyed to hunt and was a member of the NRA. He also liked to spend time in his garden.
Survivors include one son, Curtis (Sara) Wybourn of Warren; two daughters, Margo Reed of Monroe and Brenda (Phillip) Cook of Lena; eight grandchildren, Grace, Ella, Ethan, Craig, Cortney, Michael, Jeremiah and Caleb; four brothers, Harlan (Joyce) Wybourn and Norman Wybourn, both of Lena, Bob (Rosemary) Wybourn of Monroe, and Darryl (Fay) Wybourn of Waddams Grove; one sister, Dixie (Terry) Althoff of Waddams Grove; and one sister-in-law, Carol Wybourn of Lena.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Darla, his parents, and one brother, Bill.
The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren with the Rev. T.J. Kim of Warren United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Lena Burial Park.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established in his name.
