2010, in Raulerson Hospital. She was 84.
She was born April 19, 1925 in Pennsylvania,
to Mabel & Frank Flower. She moved to Okeechobee
in the early 1980’s. She enjoyed quilting
with Okeechobee Stitchin’, bingo at the Lottie
Raulerson Senior Center, and participating in
various community projects such as Widows &
Widowers Support Group, volunteering at Everglades
Elementary and Okeechobee High
School, food pantry at the Presbyterian Church,
C.O.P.S. and Habitat for Humanity.
She was preceded in death by her sisters June,
Paula, and Myrtle.
She is survived by her three daughters, Dale
(Darwin) Ireson of Arvada, Colo., Connie (William)
Pennington and Debbie (John) Garza,
both of Okeechobee; fi ve grandchildren; and
three great-grandchildren.
A remembrance gathering was from 5 to 7
p.m. Monday, March 1, at Okeechobee Presbyterian
Church, in lieu of a service per her wishes.
In lieu of fl owers, donations can be made in
her name to the Okeechobee Sheriff’s Department
for “Safety Equipment.
