He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Barbara B. Skapura of Chalfont; three sons: Mark A. Brunner Sr. of Pipersville, Jon Brunner of Sellersville and Robert F. Brunner Jr. of Neward Del.; one sister, Julia Smythe of Pipersville; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

Services were today at the Shelly Funeral Home, Warrington. Interment was in Doylestown Cemetery.

Mary Carolyn (Caroline) Leworthy was educated Penn State University.3 She was awarded an Education.3 She was a Home Economics Tacher.3 CAROLYN L. BACHMANN, a longtime resident of Doylestown, died Friday, June 20, 2003, in Doylestown Hospital. She was 79.

She was the beloved wife of WALTER E. BACHMANN JR., a retired Doylestown funeral director.

Born in Pipersville, Carolyn was a daughter of the late GEORGE E. and HELEN FRETZ LEWORTHY.

She was a graduate of Penn State University and was employed as a home economics teacher at Central Bucks High School from 1951 to 1955. She was very much involved in the operation and management of the Bachmann Funeral Home during its many years of service to the Doylestown area.

Mrs. Bachmann was extremely involved with the Doylestown Hospital. She was a past president and active member of the Village Improvement Association for more than 41 years, as well as a 42-year volunteer at the hospital.

She was a member of Doylestown Presbyterian Church for more than 60 years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Doylestown Presbyterian Church, 127 E. Court St., Doylestown. A reception will follow at the church. Interment in Doylestown Cemetery will be held privately.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Doylestown Hospital Welfare Fund, 595 W. State St., Doylestown, PA, 18901.
