Betty Lois Clark was born on 18 March 1926 in Joliet Township, Will, Illinois.1,2 She and Frederick Harry Camp were married on 23 August 1944 in Crown Point, Lake, Indiana.1 She died on 10 February 2008, at age 81, in Scottsdale, Maricopa, Arizona.1,2 She was buried in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, Lake, Indiana.1
Betty Camp died peacefully at the age of 81 at Hospice of the Valley Eckstein Center in Scottsdale, AZ of February 10, 2009 of kidney failure after a short but fierce battle with pneumonia and congestive heart failure.

Betty is survived by her sister, Bernice Clark, 90 of Joliet, IL; her five children and spouses: Jacqueline (Steven) Ribich of Scottsdale, AZ, James Camp of NY, NY; Robert Michael (Linda) Camp of Valparaiso, In; Lois (Bruce) Rhoads of Gilbert, AZ; and Leslie (Kurt) Spitler of Hammond, In; nine grandchildren; Jennifer Rhoads, Dustin Rhoads, Brian Rhoads, Elizabeth Camp, Hannah Camp, Konrad Spitler, Rebecca Spitler, Paul Ribich, Brad Ribich; two great-grandchildren, Sadie Rhoads and Jake Ribich; numerous beloved nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Betty went to Hammond High School completing the 11th grade and marrying Frederick H. Camp, her high school sweetheart and handsome maine destined for ther pacific theater on August 23, 1944.

Betty worked as an office worker in an insurance company, on the production line at Junior Toy, at Cast Armor during the War, a homemaker for many years and a cleaning worker at Jones & Laughlin Fabrication Mills after the birth of her last child.

Betty was a member of First United Lutheran Church in Hammond until she retired to Scottsdale, AZ after more than 60 years of marriage to her husband, Fred who died in March of 2005. She loved the mountain views from her apartment, shopping the Indian Markets, sampling every restaurant in town, sightseeing, and just soaking up the beautiful Arizona weather.

Betty choose to donate her body to help teach young doctors at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center, Tucson, AZ. She particularly wanted to help young doctors learrn how a chronic disease like diabetes can effect the whole being.

The medical school will return her ashes to her family in approxiamtely a year to 18 months in a ceremony at the medical school in Tucson. The new doctors will return her ashes and thank the family for her most precious gift in helping them become doctors. At that time, Betty's family will bring her back to Indiana to be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Schererville, IN. A notice of graveside service will be posted at that time.
