Mrs. Evans was an elementary school teacher in the Bangor Area School District for more than 20 years, retiring in 1972. She last worked at the former Columbus School in Roseto.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Parish of Bangor and Roseto in Bangor and a member of the Pennsylvania State Teacher's Association. Mrs. Evans was a 1925 graduate of Bangor High School and a graduate of the former West Chester Normal School.

She is survived by one son, Donald R. Evans of Bethlehem; three sisters, Alice Buskirk of Pen Argyl, Elizabeth Gleim of Bangor and Lila Brinker of Easton; two grandsons and one great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. A sister, Geraldine Brinker, died earlier.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from the Hough Home for Funerals Inc. Interment will be in the Reformed Church Cemetery, Stone Church. There will be no viewing.

She was an honors graduate from both Bangor High School in 1931 and Maryville College, TN in 1935.

Elizabeth was employed by the Bangor Area School District as a language teacher.

Mrs. Gleim was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bangor, and the John Wesley United Methodist Church in Charleston. She was often called Betty, Mom, and Grandma Gleim. This special lady was loved and admired by family and many friends. Some of her favorite activities were sewing (including her own wedding dress), gardening, baking, and cooking. Her wonderful meals were enjoyed by many.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Shirley Eden of Old Orchard Manor Care, Easton, PA and son, Howard F. (Frank) Gleim of Kingston, PA. Grandma Gleim also had many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sons, Barry and James, and four sisters, Geraldine Brinker, Lila Brinker, Mildred Evans, and Alice Buskirk.

Funeral services will be held, June 22, 2013, at 2:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Mt. Holly Springs, PA, with Rev. Joe Kugle officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery.

Alice is survived by a sister, Elizabeth Gleim of Charleston, SC, and two nephews, Donald R. Evans of Bethlehem and Dr. William Brinker of Stroudsburg.

In addition to her husband, three sisters, Mildred Evans, Lila Brinker and Geraldine Brinker preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Guerro & Ruggiero Funeral Home, www.ruggierofuneralhome.com, 126 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Pen Argyl. There will be a visitation one hour prior to services. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Pen Argyl.
