CONCORD -- Mrs. Snover, formerly of Hampstead, NC, Hingham, MA, and Winnetka, IL, died on February 8, 2009, at the age of 84 following a stroke. She was the beloved wife for 59 years of the late Melvin W. Snover; sister of the late Ronald Karnatz; devoted mother of Paul and his wife Lydia, Janet and her husband James Stansfield, Jay and his wife Beth, and John and his wife Christina; dear grandmother of Matthew, Peter, Emma, Sally, James, Mary, Charles, Alison, Jessica, Kathryn Rose, and Sam Snover; and great grandmother of Kaden Snover. She is also survived by her nieces, Winifred and Janice and nephews, William Snow, Robert Snover, and Steven and Robert Karnatz.
Born in Chicago, IL, Mrs. Snover and her husband raised their first two children in Winnetka, IL. Her husband's job transfer to Massachusetts in 1971 meant that their two younger sons grew up in Hingham, MA. Mel and Jean enjoyed ten years of retirement in a home they built along the beautiful Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway in Hampstead, NC before his death in 2004. Jean then lived at the Gardens of Taylor Glen retirement community in Concord, NC until her death.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 14 at 10:30 a.m. at Taylor Glen, 3700 Taylor Glen Lane, Concord. Burial will be private.

They have WWI muster rolls -- just give the dates when he mustered in/out. Not terribly interesting since he's a relatively distant cousin (he's the son of one of Missy's cousins).
