Grace E. Thomas, 88, of Saylors Lake, Saylorsburg, formerly of Catasauqua, died Tuesday, January 8, 2011 in St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill. She was the wife of the late Warren R. Thomas. She was a waitress at the former Reidmiller Restaurant in Saylorsburg for 26 years until retiring in 1997. Prior to that, she was a kitchen worker in the High School for the Catasauqua School District, and a machine operator at the former Allentown Paper Box Company. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. Lear, Sr. and Alice (Steiner) Lear. She was a member of Flicksville United Church of Christ, Bangor. She was a 1940 graduate of Allentown High School. She was a member of Saylors Lake Fishing Association, Women of the Moose, Easton Lodge, and a past Senior Regent and Star Recorder of the Women of the Moose of the former Catasauqua Lodge. She was a past Girl Scout Leader of Troop # 12, Catasauqua for 12 years. Survivors: Daughters, Fran wife of Gilbert Weaver of Bethlehem and Grace wife of Raymond Ott of Bath; Brother, Charles F. Lear, Jr. of Catasauqua; Grandsons, Todd Ott and his wife Ann of Wind Gap, Rodney Weaver and his friend Laura Palaszynski of Northampton, Brad Ott and his wife Melissa of Panama City Beach, FL, and Cory Ott and his wife Jean of Mooresville, N.C.; and Great-Grandchildren, Mikaylah, Vanessa, Juztyn, Mackenzie, John, and Rileigh. Services: Funeral service will be held on Monday, at 10:30 a.m. at the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th and Hamilton Sts. Allentown. Call Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Flicksville United Church of Christ 1337 Lower South Main St. Bangor, PA 18013.

Warren R. Thomas, 85, of Saylors Lake, Saylorsburg, formerly of Catasauqua, died Saturday, January 5 in St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Grace E. (Lear) Thomas. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on September 1. He was employed by Bethlehem Steel Foundry and Ingersoll Rand Iron Foundry for many years before retiring. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Flicksville United Church of Christ, Bangor. He was a member of Easton Moose Lodge and the former Catasauqua Moose Lodge. He received the highest degree awarded, the Pilgrim Degree. He was a member of Saylors Lake Fishing Association and took care of the fishing applications, stocking and boat rentals for many years. He loved spending time at the lake with his family, especially the grandchildren.

Survivors: Wife; daughters, Fran, wife of Gilbert Weaver, of Bethlehem, Grace, wife of Raymond Ott, of Bath; sister, Mabel Beck of Lake Ariel; grandsons, Todd Ott and his wife, Ann, of Wind Gap, Rodney Weaver and his friend, Laura Palaszynski, of Easton, Brad Ott and his wife, Melissa, of Virginia Beach, Va., Cory Ott and his wife, Jean, of Mooresville, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Mikaylah, Venessa, Juztyn, Mackenzie, John and Rileigh.
