PHILIP E. BREAZEALE NOV 19, 1922 - MAY 7, 2011 Philip died at home with family at his side. He was born in Oakdale but lived in the Wood Colony community of west Modesto from the age of three until his death. He attended Ransom school, graduated from Modesto High School in 1940, and married Donna Leech on April 27, 1946. He made a living at farming, and served for many years on the Hart-Ransom school board. He earned a teaching credential in 1967 at Stanislaus State and then taught the 6th grade at Hart-Ransom for 13 years. Philip was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Meyer, and brother, Don Breazeale, both of Modesto. He is survived by his wife, Donna, children, Susan (Michael) Park of Modesto, Don (Jacinta) Breazeale of Honduras, and David Breazeale of Modesto, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Elizabeth Brown of Camarillo, sister in law Loretta Breazeale, and many nieces and nephews. We would like to thank Drs. Forester and Heck, and the caregivers of Provident Care for the excellent care and compassion extended to our entire family. 4 Donald Robert Breazeale, 80, of Modesto died Monday at Evergreen Rehabilitation Care Center.
Mr. Breazeale was a native and lifelong resident of Modesto. He was a 1943 graduate Modesto High School, and he attended Modesto Junior College. He was a self-employed farmer for 60 years; he was a dairyman until 1980, then had a vineyard. He belonged to the Stanislaus County Guernsey Association and the American Guernsey Cattle Club, and he was a life member of the Guernsey Breeders Association. Horses were his hobby; he was a member of the Stanislaus County Horsemen's Association and the Northern California Morgan Horse Association. He was an Army veteran, serving from 1953-1955.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta J. Breazeale of Modesto; children, Robert Donald Breazeale of Folsum and William Melvin Breazeale of Modesto; brother, Philip Breazeale of Modesto; sister, Elizabeth Brown of Camarillo; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel. Private burial at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella.
