87, of Oldsmar, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2008 under the care of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast at home with family at her side. Vera was born in 1920, the daughter of Hugh and Pauline Wintermute in Trenton, NJ. Her parents both died in their 50s. She married in 1942 to the late Stephen Mankovich and was a retired secretary at the New Jersey State House and RCA. Vera's favorite pastime was playing bingo, bridge and canasta. She will be sorely missed by her fellow players. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Verzi; granddaughters Valerie Carroll and Savannah Albright; sister Doris Walsh and her husbnd Richard, as well as her nieces and nephews, Jeffrey, Melinda, Barry and Amy Walsh. Donations in memory of Vera may be made to Hospice of the Florida Suncoast.

Stephen Coleman Mankovich was born on 18 July 1916 in Trenton, Mercer, New Jersey.^1,2 He and Vera Eleanor Wintermute were married on 30 June 1951 in Trenton, Mercer, New Jersey.¹ He died on 1 June 1992, at age 75.^1,2 He was buried in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, Clearwater, Pinellas, Florida.³
