HARRY SNOVER

Newton- Funeral services for HARRY SNOVER of the Newton-Sparta Road were held yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Iliff Funeral Home 156 Main Street, Newton. The Rev. Alfred Elsesser, pastor of Baleville Christian Congregational Church, officiated and burial was in Baleville Cemetery. Masonic services were held Tuesday evening at 8.
Born in Halsey 78 years ago, Mr. Snover resided here 18 years. He was a retired dairy farmer and belonged to the Baleville Christian Congregational Church, Kittatinney Lodge 164 F & AM, Banchville, and the Sussex County Forest, Tall Cedars of Lebanon.
Survivors are two sons, Harold W., of Lafayette and Leo H. of Blairstown; a daughter, Mrs Betty Tindal of Succasunna; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mayme Hendershot, 64, of Newton, Sussex County, died of a heart attack Wednesday while visiting at the home of Mrs. George Mooney, of Andover. She was the widow of Samuel Hendershot. Born in Marksboro, she had lived all her life in Sussex County. She owned and operated the Yankee Hill Antique Shop located at her home on Sparta Avenue. Surviving are a son, James C., of Newton; two daughters, Mrs. Lester Mooney and Mrs. Leslie Decker, of Washington; a brother, Harold Wintermute, of Newton;; 9 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services were held this afternoon.
Internment was in Newton Cemetery.
