Lois Carolyn Best was born on 5 February 1927 in Netcong, Morris, New Jersey.2 She died on 26 June 2001, at age 74, in Franklin, Sussex, New Jersey.2 She was buried in Newton Cemetery, Newton, Sussex, New Jersey.2
Lois C. Hendershot, 74, of Blairstown Township died Tuesday, June 26, in her daughter's home.
She was a homemaker.
Born Feb. 5, 1927, in Netcong, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Marvin and Alice Mooney Best. She had resided in Roxbury, Newton and Budd Lake, NJ, for a period of time before moving to Blairstown Township more then 30 years ago.
She was a former Girl Scout Leader while residing in Roxbury.
She is survived by her husband, Carl; two sons, Alan of Columbia and Steve of Blairstown Township; two daughters, Denise and Sydell Shaffer, both of Blairstown Township; a brother, Donald of Flanders, NJ; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Newbaker Funeral Home, Route 94, Blairstown Township. Call 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
The family requests memorials to an animal rescue shelter fund of choice.

Alan Bruce Hendershot was born on 14 December 1949 in Newton, Sussex, New Jersey.1,2 He died on 7 April 2005, at age 55, in Newton, Sussex, New Jersey.2 He was buried on 11 April 2005 in Hainesburg Cemetery, Columbia, Warren, New Jersey.2,3

Alan B. Hendershot Sr., 55, of Knowlton Township, NJ, died on Thursday, April 7, 2005 at Newton Memorial Hospital, Newton, NJ.
Born: In Newton, NJ, he was a son of the late Carl, whom died in 2002, and Lois Best Hendershot, whom died in 2001.
Personal: He was the husband of the former Cynthia Van Auken.
Alan was a self employed owner/operator of the Alan B. Hendershot Trucking Co. He was a 1968 graduate of Roxbury High School, Roxbury, NJ, and he had also attended Churchman Business School, Easton, PA.
Alan had served in the New Jersey National Guard from 1971 to 1975.
He was an avid private pilot, and he loved fishing, skiing, motorcycles, and his Thunderbird.
Memberships: He was a member of the Walnut Valley UM Church in Blairstown, NJ. He was also a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association, Chapter 70.
Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Cynthia, he is survived by a son, Alan B. Jr. of Belvidere, NJ; two daughters, Jennifer of Bergen County, NJ, Emily, at home; a brother, Steven of Blairstown, NJ; a sister, Denise of Hardwick Township, NJ; and many nieces and nephews.
A sister, Sydell Shaffer died in 2002.
Services: Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Newbaker Funeral Home, 200 Route 94, Blairstown, NJ. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home. Internment will be in Hainesburg Cemetery, Hainesburg, NJ.
Memorials: Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 669 Littleton Road, Parsippany, NJ 07054; the Knowlton Fire and Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 231 Delaware, NJ 07833; or to the Knowltown Lions Club.

Sydell Jayne Hendershot was a Co-Owner/Operater H & S Enterprises, Columbia, New Jersey.3 Sydell J. Shaffer, 47, of Blairstown died Wednesday, May 8, in Hackettstown Community Hospital.
She was co-owner and operator, with her husband, of H & S Enterprises, a trucking business in Columbia.
Born July 31, 1954, in Newton, NJ, she was a daughter of the late J. Carl and Lois Best Hendershot. She resided in Blaistown all her life.
She was a 1972 graduate of North Warren Regional High School.
She and her husband, Kenneth, were married for 29 years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Alicia M. Casey of Knowlton Township; two sons, Kyle J., at home, and Kevin P. of Knowlton Township; a sister, Denise of Blairstown; two brothers, Alan of Columbia and Steve of Blairstown; and two grandsons.
