Age 85. Passed away Sunday, January 30, 2005 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. Born in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet resident. Lifetime parishioner of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church.
Survived by special nieces, Mary Ann (late John) Schwerha and Janet (Chuck) Smolich; her mother-in-law, Grace Styck; Brothers-in-law, Kenny and Bob Styck; sisters-in-law, Nelda Cappelan, Lucille Cappelan, Mary Turner, Delores Clodi, Doreen Buza and Carol Mullett; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Clifford H. Styck; parents, Andrew and Theresa Dobak; sisters, Mary (Steve) Kovalcik and Theresa Dobak; brothers, Andrew (Mary), Joseph and infant, Andrew; father-in-law, Peter Styck; and brothers-in-law, Ray and Everett.
Funeral services for Lucille M. Styck will be Thursday, February 3, 2005 at 9:15 AM from the funeral home chapel to Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Interment Ss. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday, 2-7 PM at:

Virginia Styck Virginia K. Styck, 63, 1182 W. Gregg St., Kankakee, died Tuesday, at St. Mary's Hospital.
She was born March 1, 1919, in Goreville, to Mr. and Mrs. Van Denison.
Mrs. Styck had been a registered medical technician for 35 years. She had been employed for 14 years by Dr. P. W. Sawyer until retiring in 1975.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church an a member of the American Association of Medical Assistants.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Styck, to whom she was married March 1, 1947, in Kankakee; one daughter, Joan Fager of Kankakee; three grandsons, one great-grandson and two great-great-granddaughters; one brother, Randall of Bradley; two sisters, Ora Trobaugh of Caribou, Maine and Helen Kueiffer of Tampa, Fla. and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, two brothers and one sister is deceased.
Visitation from 3-9 p.m. today at Hertz-Thoma Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the services at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church. The Rev. David Bottorff will officiate.
Burial will be in Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Styck was born Dec. 4, 1932, in Richie, a son of Frederick Peter and Grace (Goodrich) Styck. He married Phyllis Jean Smiley on April 14, 1956, in Kankakee.
He is survived by his wife in Gibson City; two sons, Robert E. (Sue Ann) Styck Jr., Golconda, and Peter F. (Janet) Styck, Gibson City; six grandchildren, Christy E. (Carlos) Calderon, San Jose, Calif.; Robert O. (Kayla) Styck, Brazil, Ind.; Tim (Heather) Lantz, Paxton; Chad Lantz, Nathan Lee Styck and Ethan Tyler Styck, all of Gibson City; three great-grandchildren, Robert Thomas Styck, Keegan Timothy Lantz and Kirra Karlene Lantz; five sisters, Lucille Cappelan, Florida; Delores Clodi, Herscher; Nelda Cappelan, Des Plaines; Doreen Buza, Bondfield; and Carol Mullett, Bourbonnais.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
Mr. Styck lived in Gibson City since 1969; he was formerly of Kankakee.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of American Legion Post 568, VFW Post 6289; Elliott Amvets Post 0276 and Gibson City Masonic Lodge 733 AF & AM.
He was one of three men who started the Bondfield Lions Club.
He loved farm work, mostly the people he worked for: the Tjardes boys and Jim Piper were more like family to him than employers. Robert never met a person he didn't like.
