Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from the Hertz-Thomas Chapel, the Rev. John McClimeans of Bonfield Evangelical United Methodist Church officiating. Bur.ial will be at Mound Grove Gardens. Visitation is from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a mason and a member of the American Legion. He was of the Lutheran faith.
Surviving are a son, William "Bud" Stokes of Kankakee; four daughters, Penny Conn and Candy Davis, both of Elizabethtown, Warreena Barnard of Slaughters, Ky., and Janis Reed of Carterville; his mother, Grace Styck of Kankakee; one brother, Robert Styck of Kankakee; five sisters, Lucille Coppelan of Florida, Doreen Buza of Bonfield, Delores Clodi of Herscher, Carol Mullett of Bourbonnais and Nelda Coppelan of Des Plaines; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers. His father was Peter Styck.T

Also deceased are one daughter, Doris and two sons, James and Lloyd.
Mras. Dunn was owner of Dunn's Grocery Store in Hessville, Ind. from 1950-1955; and owner of Hazel's Cafe in Herscher between 1957 and 1964.
She was a past member of the Order of Eastern Starr.
Surving are one son and two daughters-in-law, Daniel and Cindy Dunn of Bonfield and Elsie Dunn of Hessville, Ind.; two daughters, Mary J. Vera M. Nowman, 87, of Bourbonnais, passed away Thursday (Aug. 8, 2013) at Presence Our Lady of Victory in Bourbonnais. Vera was born Jan. 16, 1926, in Kankakee, the daughter of Elmer and Ruby (Goodrich) Brassard. Her husband, Samuel W. Nowman, whom she married March 27, 1943, preceded her in death July 1, 2013. Vera enjoyed gardening, but most of all, enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Surviving are his sons, Joe (Teresa) Brassard and Ed (Lori) Brassard; step-son Dale Underwood; brothers, Larry Brassard and Richard Brassard; sisters, Iona Ledford and Rosemary Irp; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He worked for 32 years at the General Motors plant Willow Springs. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Air Force.

Brassard had been missing for more than five weeks before volunteer rescue divers found his body in a cooling lake at the Commonwealth Edison Braidwood Nuclear Plant.
His companions John Mack lll of Godley and Richard Flynn of Wilmington, have not been located.
He was born July 26, 1934, at Kankakee to Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Brassard. His father is deceased and his mother Ruby Brassard of Wilmington, survives.
Mr. Brassard ws employed by Penn-Dixie in Joliet.

5 A funeral will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Hood Mortuary for David P. Brassard who died Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center of natural causes, He was 62.
The Rev. Myron Darmour will officiate. Burial will be after the service.
Mr. Brassard was born Sept. 26, 1939, in Kankakee, Ill. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1966 as an aircraft-retrieval and rescue-team member. He worked for many years driving a semitrailer truck coast to coast. He also worked in the oil fields. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing and the outdoors.
He is survived by two sons, Roy Dusenberry of Susanville, Calif., and Roger Brassard of Ignacio; three daughters, Romona Brassard and Roshelle Brassard, both of Center, Colo., and Rita Lucero of Ignacio; 13 grandchildren, Brandon and Brittni Lucerno of Ignacio, Megan Dusenberry of Ignacio, Jontique and Jacob Velasco of Bayfield, Roger Brassard, Jr. and Hunter Brassard of Bayfield, Mariah and Alex Pena of Arboles, Ramon Brassard of Durango, Raven Brassard of Center, Lucas Gallegos, Jr. and Carlos Gallegos of Center; eight brothers and sisters; numerous nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Joan Arcello, of Center.
