BRISTOL -- John Wesley Snedaker, 86, of Bristol, died 3:50 p.m. Dec. 31, 2007, at home.
He was born Nov. 19, 1921, in Elkhart to Sylvester and Josie (Forman) Snedaker. He married Doris Spencer on Sept. 17, 1942, in Mishawaka.
She survives along with one son, Dale (Joyce) Snedaker of Elkhart; three daughters, Dorsey (Duane) Barnes of Sylvania, Ohio, Suan Barnes of Jacksonville, Fla., and Dawn (William) Powell of Bristol; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Leroy (Lucille) Snedaker of Greenwood, George Snedaker of Edwardsburg, Mich., and Robert Snedaker of Elkhart; and two sisters, Rosa (Glenn) Miles of Mesa, Ariz., and Mary Fryer of Lawrenceburg.
He was preceded in death by one grandchild, Stephen; one great-grandchild, Anthony; two brothers, Frank and Paul; and one sister, Nancy.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Creation Fellowship, 30284 C.R. 10, Granger. Burial has taken place in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Snedaker served in World War II in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1945. He worked as a machinist for many years. He was a member of New Creation Fellowship Church and was a Charter Organizational Representative for Boy Scouts Troop 745.
