Age 93, of Horseheads, NY, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2009 at Bethany Manor. She was born in Elmira, NY on December 9, 1915 to the late Wasyl and Catherine (Roman) Lashiw. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Stuard Freeland; brothers, John and Peter Lashiw and sisters, Nellie Kowulich and Annie Whiting. Survivors include her son, Mark (Margaret) Freeland of NJ; grandchildren, Michele Freeland of NJ and Michael Freeland of PA; great-grandson, Patrick McKell of NJ; sister-in-law, Phyllis (Jack) Slocum of Horseheads. Family and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service for Mary on Tuesday, March 3rd at 12 PM in Maple Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 408 S. Main St., Horseheads, NY 14845. Arrangements have been entrusted to the James D. Barrett Funeral Home.

She was born in South Bend, Ind., to V. James and Daisy Jones.

She married Gerald "Jerry" Snover Sept. 26, 1941, in South Bend. He preceded her in March of 2004.

She lived in southern Michigan, San Diego, Calif., Sacramento, Calif., and Oregon.

She was a hard working wife and mom. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and playing bridge.

Toni is survived by her daughters Mary Jane and husband Dan Mace of Albany, and Sandi and husbend Skip Duncan of Lewiston, Idaho; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Alterra Wynwood.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics or the charity of the donor's choice.
