Floyd E. Wood, age 52, of Mansfield, Pa., died unexpectedly on Friday, Jan. 13, 2006 at the Robert Packer Hospital. Floyd is the loving husband of Nancy E. (Wilkins) Wood.

He was born on May 5, 1953 in Wellsboro, the son of Wilbur K. and Anita M. (Adams) Wood Sr. of Mansfield.

Floyd?s life work was farming, driving truck and he was currently employed by Sheehan Pipeline Construction Company of Tulsa, Okla.

He is a member of the teamsters union local # 529 and operator?s union member. Floyd also hauled milk for many years and loved being a mechanic. Floyd worked for Baker Heavy Equipment, building the Blossburg section of Rt. 15.

He was also a loving husband, father and grandfather, also loved his dogs, Fred and Fredette. He will always be remembered for sharing stories and was willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.

In addition to his wife Nancy, Floyd is survived by two sons, Jason Wood and Wilbur (Melinda) Wood of Mansfield; three daughters, Anita (Bill) Hart, Brandee Wood and Jennifer Wood of Mansfield; six grandchildren; brother, Earl Wood of Mansfield; sister, Penny (Jeff) Crum of Mansfield; grandmother, Gladys Wood; mother-in-law, Shirley Wilkins and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Floyd is preceded in death by a son, Michael E. Wood on April 21, 1991; a brother, Wilbur K. Wood Jr. and father-in-law, Lloyd Wilkins.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Scureman Funeral Home, 130 South Main Street, Mansfield, Pa. on Monday, Jan. 16 from 6 to 9 p.m. Again on Tuesday, January 17 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday with the Reverend Kenneth Marple officiating. Interment will be at Jobs Corner Cemetery.
