4 Lewis Christian Buffington, Jr., was an Employee- Public Utility Commission/ Lawyer. He was educated West Point Academy/ University of Colorado/ Dickeinson Law School. He was awarded a BS- Engineering/ MS- Areonautical Engineering. Lewis C. Buffington Jr., 52, of 530 W. Main St., died Monday in the Polyclinic Medical Center, where he was taken when he was stricken with a heart attack while giving an address at the Memorial Day celebration at Elizabethville.He was employed by the Public Utility Commission; and was an associate of the Melman, Gekas, Nicholas and Lieberman Law firm if Harrisburg.
Mr. Buffington retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the Air Force in 1973. He was a 1946 graduate of Elizabethville High School; a graduate of West Point Military Academy in the class of 1951, with a bachelor of science degree in engineering; University of Colorado in 1962 with a MS in areonautical engineering; and a graduate of Dickinson Law School in 1976. He was a member of the American Bar Association; Pennsylvania Bar Association; Retired Officers Association; Air Force Association; past president of the Elizabethville Area Rotary; member of Americal Legion Post 404, Elizabethville; and VFW Post 6443, Elizabethville.
He is survived by his wife Ruth; mother, Mrs. Hannah Buffington of Camp Hill; two stepsons, Michael Cusick, of Camp Pendleton, Calif. and Patrick Cusick of Elizabethville; three brothers, Richard of West Chester, David of Northampton and Timothy of Camp Hill; and a sister, Miss Ardith Ann of Camp Hill.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Hoover Funeral Home, Elizabethville, by the Rev. Glenn Matter. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday after 7 p.m.
