3 Mr. Ted R. Longworth, 85, of Findlay, OH, entered eternal rest at 8:15 a.m., Friday, November 4th, 2005 while in the company of family members at his residence.
Mr. Longworth was born in Findlay, Ohio on August 16, 1920, the son of the late George and Sylvia (Hinton) Longworth.
He was the husband of Betty G. (Routzon) Longworth. They were married May 7, 1945 in Napoleon, Ohio. She survives him. He is also survived by three sons; Gary (Marilyn) Longworth of Findlay, Greg (Deb) Longworth of Findlay, and Victor (Pam) Longworth of Cincinnati, OH. Ted also has two sisters; Aldebel Ritter of Carey, OH., and Beatrice Hoteling of Carey, OH., and 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren that will also miss him.
Ted is preceded in death by a son; George R. "Rusty" Longworth and a granddaughter; Nicole Lynn Longworth.
He proudly served for 21 years as a Police Officer with Findlay Police Department. He also retired from Hercules Tire and Rubber Company in 1982. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the AMVETS and the Moose. He was a former Assistant Scout Master for the Boy Scouts, Jr. Bowling and Swimming instructor. Ted was involved in the Logos Program and served in various lay leadership positions within his church. He enjoyed poetry writing and painting as his hobbies throughout his life.
Visitation will be held at Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Routson Funeral Chapel. A religious service will be held at First Christian Church, Findlay, OH., at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 7th, 2005 with Dave Clark officiating.
Interment to follow in Knollcrest Gardens Arcadia, OH. Military rites to be performed by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad and Masonic rites will be performed as well.
