GLADYS W. TROOP, 77, OF ELVERSON Gladys W. (Wade) Troop, 77, of Hill Road, Elverson, wife of John C. Troop, died Wednesday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Pottsgrove, she was a daughter of the late H. Russell Wade and the late Edith S. (Snyder) Wade Geiser. She was a homemaker, and a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Pottstown. Mrs. Troop supported the "feed the children" charity for many years. Surviving besides her husband is a son Douglass husband of Laurie Troop, Douglassville; a brother Russell Wade, Boyertown; a sister Gloria Skora, Kenilworth; two grandchildren John & Jessica Troop; four step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Russell David Troop. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. on Monday from the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory 359 King St., Pottstown. Officiating will be Reverend Peter Nichols. Burial will be in St. Peter's UCC Cemetery, Knauertown. There will be a viewing Monday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, at 359 King St. in Pottstown.

Russell David Troop, 43, of Elverson and formerly of Pottstown, passed away on Sunday at his residence. Born in Pottstown, he was a son of Gladys W. (Wade) Troop and John C. Troop.

David had attended Owen J. Roberts High School and he had been employed for many years as a chef at various restaurants along the east coast. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, David is also survived by his brothers, J. Daniel Troop (husband of Lisa) of Elgin, S.C., and H. Douglass Troop of Douglassville; his nieces and nephews, and his companion, Adrienne Bere and her children.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Thursday, starting at 10 a.m. at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown, and to his Visitation on Thursday morning from 9-9:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Peter's U.C.C. Cemetery, Knauertown, Pa.
