Paul Keith Utz, age 85, went home to be with his Heavenly Father, on Friday, March 15, 2019, from his home surrounded by his Loving family. Paul was born in Hastings, Michigan, on August 1, 1933, to John H. Utz and Monabelle E. (Swan) Utz. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Kay E. Klinger and Jean K. Burns and brothers, Bruce E. Utz, John D. Utz, Dean A. Utz and Robert E. Utz.
Paul is survived by his Loving wife of 58 years, Judith A. Utz; his children, Cheryl (Jeff) Whitney of Jackson, Brenda (Rick) Olson of Yarmouth, ME, Patricia (Jerry) Johnson of Jackson and Lori Smith of Jackson; grandchildren, Jennifer (Walt) Ammerman, Donald (MaryJo) White, Lynn (Elaine) Olson, Tracy (Wesley) Stanton, Eric Olson, Mary (Ryan) Hall, Jacob Morris, Jami Morris, Joseph (Nicole) Whitney, Jayson Whitney, Ryan (Kim) Whitney, Stefanie (Chris) McClintic, Nate (Whitney) Whitney and Heather (John) Coley; 18 great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild. Paul is also survived by two sisters, Doris L. Carter of Jackson and Ann M. Cornell of Lansing; two brothers, David R. Utz of Jacksonville, AR and Carlton G. (Gail) Utz of Jackson; brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Paul retired from the State of Michigan Corrections Prison System, in 1988, after 27 years of service. Paul was also a Marine Corp Veteran. A visitation with family and friends will be held at the Hampton Funeral Home (4204 Ann Arbor Road, Jackson, MI 49202) on Monday, March 18th from 4:00 8:00 P.M. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Paul Keith Utz will be held at New Horizons Community Church (4300 Lansing Ave., Jackson, MI 49201) on Tuesday, March 19th beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Jerry Lyon officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Jones Cemetery.
