Mr. Swan seved in the U.S. Air Force, had retired from the State of Michigan Secretary of State Office in 1988, and loved antique cars, traveling, and camping. He was a member of Redeemer United Methodist Church, DeWitt, the DeWitt Lions Club, and the Bath Shootin Stars square dance club. Mr Swan was preceded in death by his sister, Katy Swan; brother, Lee Swan; and grandson, Brent Root. Surviving are June, his wife of 50 years; 2 daughters, Gail (Ed) Carey of St. Johns and Lori (Bill) Root of Muskegon; 1 son, Steven (Sarah) of DeWitt; 7 grandchildren, Michael and Michelle Carey, Debbie and Stephanie Root and Joshua (Amy) Zachary, and Monica Swan; four great-grandchildren; his stepmother, Pauline Swan; 1 sister, Patricia Davis of Lansing; many in-laws, nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends, Harold Case and Bernard Goodknecht. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 20, at 11 a.m. at Redeemer United Methodist Church, 13980 Shavey Rd., DeWitt, with the Rev. Rodney J. Kalajainen officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hil Memorial Gardens, Lansing Mi.

June was an active member of the Square Dance Bath Shooting Stars and Lioness Club of DeWitt for many years. She was an excellent seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley in 2001; and one grandson. Surviving to cherish her memory are 2 daughters, Gail (Ed) Cary and Lori Root; one son, Steven Swan; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Thomas (Barb) Trefil and Robert (Sara) Trefil; many nieces and nephews; and lifelong good friends, Bernard and Helen Goodknecht.
Everyone was invited to wear their Tigers' gear to celebrate June's life.
Funeral Services were held on Friday, August 7, 2015, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, DeWitt, MI. Pastor Russ McCoy officiated. Interment was at Chapel Hill Memorial gardens.
