John Sherwood

John E. Sherwood, 64, of Wilkes-Barre, died Saturday, August 6, 2005, at Allied Services Skilled Nursing, Scranton.

Born July 1, 1941, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary Sherwood.

He is survived by his friend, Julane Middaugh, Wilkes-Barre. He will be sadly missed by all his friends at the Summit Health Care Center, Wilkes-Barre.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. from the Chapel of Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton, with the Rev. Kevin Mulhern officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Shrine Cemetery.

Arrangements are by the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Directors.

Charles William Sherwood, 65, of the Georgetown section of Wilkes-Barre Township, died Friday at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.

Born April 8, 1937, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Charles G. and Mary (Delinsky) Sherwood. He attended GAR High School. He worked for more than 47 years at Penn State Belt Co., Wilkes-Barre Township. He was of the Protestant faith. He was a former member of Sons of Italy, Wilkes-Barre.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, the former Lorraine Guida; daughters, Rosemarie Vista, Palm Bay, Fla., and Frances Macaraig, Bremerton, Wash.; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; and brother, John, Wilkes-Barre.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home Inc., 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Carol Coleman, pastor of Luzerne United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until services begin Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
