Robert Morrell's first wife Faye had several Whitmore daughters (six perhaps?) but he and Faye did not have any children together. He was married to Patricia Mobus when he died in 2012, and their child is Polly Anna Snover, who will turn 18 this December 18th, I believe. (Must check to make sure.)

Robert Morrell Snover, was born on December 21st, 1937 at Rosenkrahn's Hospital in Stroudsburg, PA. He graduated East Stroudsburg High School, in 1957. He was an volunteer for the East Stroudsburg Fire Company, as well.

Mr. Snover was an Army Veteran who served our country from 1960 to 1963. He was with the army engineers constructing runways in Viet Nam. He also served in the National Guard in East Stroudsburg, PA.

Throughout his life Mr. Snover held positions at Paterson Kelley in East Stroudsburg, Fiorot Trucking, John Gibbons Trucking, Eddystone, PA and Cappriotti Trucking in Mt. Bethel, PA.
Before his retirement in 2009, Mr. Snover worked at Clayton Block, Lakewood, NJ for over 10 years.

As a young man, Mr. Snover enjoyed being a active Boy Scout with his friends and his dad. He recalled going to Camp Weytapt in Knowlton Twsp, NJ with fond memories.

Mr. Snover was predeceased by his parents, Margaret Snover (Tough), Frank Jay Snover, and his first wife, Feye Whitmore.

He leaves his wife, Patricia A. Snover (Mobus), his children Polly Anna Snover, John P. Wastie and Samantha Joy Wastie. His sisters, Cathy Ann Ingraham, husband Stephen Ingraham of Texas, and Julie Cooksey, of Texas. His niece, Sandy Morris, nephews, James and Alexander Ingraham also of Texas, and Roger Kunkle of Florida. Three great nieces and one great nephew. He also leaves seven step-daughters and many grandchildren.

A full military service will be held on Friday, March 2nd at the American Legion 117, 189 Veterans Dr. SE, Palm Bay, Fl. At 4 pm sharp. Final interment will be in East Stroudsburg, PA.

Frank Edgar Beecher died when my grandmother was 12 years old - so that would have been around 1926. I don't know what he died of - a question I will ask about. The family lore is that Mabel married later in life (well, later than many women during that time period) and as far as I know was only married to Frank.

Frank was a wandering spirit and my grandmother often talked about all the different places and countries they lived in when she was a girl.

The family, Frank, Mabel, Charlotte and Katherine did live in Los Angeles, CA (Venice Beach, specifically) from the 1920s onward and I remember my grandmother telling me Katherine E. Hart lived with them for a time after Frank died. Mabel in turn, lived with my grandmother's family (husband and kids) until she passed away (sometime in the 1960s or 70s?). It was in Los Angeles, CA that my grandmother met my grandfather, Jenne, and his large tribe of dutch relatives. The dutch families settled in LA during the 1920s and 30s and again after WWII. Somewhere we have a family photo displaying the four generations of women - Mabel, Charlotte, Charlotte's daughter and granddaughter.

Katherine Slowey

A Mass was celebrated for Port Angeles resident Katherine Slowey, who died June 24, 2007, at the age of 96. She was born Sept. 18, 1910, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Frank and Mabel Hart Beecher. She lived in Peru as a child, grew up in Venice, Calif., and also lived in Ketchikan, Alaska.

She married Robert C. Lewis in Lewiston, Idaho, on April 29, 1947. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1997, in Ketchikan, Alaska. She married Leonard A. Slowey at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Port Angeles on Feb. 22, 2003.

She enjoyed traveling, commercial fishing, playing harmonica, dancing and attending her Bible study group. She was a member of Queen of Angels, Eastern Star, Old Time Fiddlers, Jazz in the Olympics Society and Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard A. Slowey; sons and daughters-in-law Larry and Betti Slowey and Michael and Nancy Slowey; daughters and sons-in-law Sue and Chris Kleinfelter and Rena and George Peabody; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
