Charles Edward Witty was born on 6 January 1895 in Pompton Plains, Morris, New Jersey. He and Helen M. Slockbower were married on 21 October 1918 in New York City, New York, New York.1 He died on 28 June 1952, at age 57, in Pompton Plains, Morris, New Jersey.
Charles Edward Witty was a Marotta Engineering Company Maintenace Man.2 Charles E. Witty of Towaco died Saturday at the Morristown Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Pompton Plains, Jan. 6, 1895, he was a resident of Towaco for the last 57 years. He had been employed as a maintenance man with Marotta Engineering Co., Boonton.

Mr. Witty was an active warden of the Towaco Fire Department; an exempt member of the New Jersey Firemen's Association and secretary of the North Jersey Volunteer Firemen's Association.

Surviving besides his widow, Helen Slockbouer Witte of Towaco, is his father, Ward Witte of Montville; two sons, Charles T. of Woodmere, Long Island, N.Y., and Albert Ward Witte of Towaco; six brothers, Donald of Boonton, William F., of Wallingford, Conn., Stanley of Waterbury, Conn., Duance of Toledo, Ohio, Robert of Towaco and Ralph of Montville and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Bartholomay of Boonton and Mrs. Edward McGuire of Boonton Township.

Private funeral services will be held at the funeral home, 312 West Main St., Boonton, today at 4 p.m. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. The Rev. G. Heemstra, pastor of the Pompton Reformed Church, will officiate.

The Towaco Fire Department will hold memorial services at the funeral home tonight at 8 o'clock.

Albert Ward Witty was born on 19 July 1921 in Jersey City, Hudson, New Jersey.1 He died in October 1976, at age 55.1 He was buried in Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa, Passaic, New Jersey.2
U.S. Navy-WWII- 22 Jul 1942- 23 Oct 1945.3 Albert Ward Witty was a Montville Councilman/ Salesman Prudential Insurance Company.4 Albert Witty, 55, councilman of Montville, died Tuesday night in St. Clare's Hospital, Denville after a long illness.

Mr. Witty was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. , and had lived in the Montville area most of his life. He served on the Township Committee for two full terms and was reelected in 1975 to a third. He also served on the Montville Planning Board for 14 years when many crucial decisions were made about the township's future and was chairman of that board for eight years.

A member of the Towaco Volunteer Fire Department for over 25 years, Mr. Witty also belonged to Post 279 of Lincoln Park and the Montville VFW and was former Republican county committeeman. His family was one of the township's first dairy farmers.

Mr. Witty was employed as a salesman by the Prudential Insurance Co. for over 30 years. He was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration. His wife, the former Marjoie Bausch, is employed as one of the town's tax collectors.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Church of the Transfiguration . Interment will be in Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Towaco. Funeral arrangements are by the funeral home at 125 Main St., Lincoln Park.

Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Craig, Dean and Leigh, all of Towaco; a brother, Theodore, of Long Island, N.Y., and two grandchildren.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars in Mountain Lakes and a member of the Church of Transfiguration as well its woman's club.

She is survived by children Craig (June), Dean (Maryann) and Leigh (Kathryn) Witty; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband Albert Witty (1976).

Arrangements were by The Keri Memorial Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers, donations may go to Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 9 Two Bridges Rd., Towaco, NJ 07082.
