3 Robert Warren "Bob" Moore, age 77, died suddenly Sunday, January 21, 2007. He had Parkinson's Disease for a number of years. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Belton Christian Church. Services wil be 10 a.m. Friday morning at the church.

Bob was born in Lawrence County, Ill., on August 8, 1929, to Carl K. and Alma (Miller) Moore. In 1948, he enlisted in the Air Force. He retired from the Air Force as a Lt. Colonel on July 1, 1978. During his years of service, he received the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal.
He married Ellen Ann Butler in Altamont, Ill., on December 27, 1951. During Bob's years in the AF, the family lived around the world. Bob transferred to Richards-Gebaur AFB in 1975 and settled in Raymore in 1977. He returned to school and completed his bachelor's degree and obtained a master of Arts degree. He served as Mayor of Raymore from April 1990 through November 1996.
Bob was a member of the Belton Christian Church, where he served as an elder and taught Sunday school. He was an active member of the Optimist Club and the Lions Club, receiving the Melvin Jones Fellow award.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters. He is survived by his wife of 55 years; son Richard Moore of Tucson, Ariz.; daughters Karen McKinney of Fairborn, Ohio, and Shelley Byers of the home. Also surviving are five grandchildren, a brother-in-law, nephew, nieces and three cousins.
