Carol Marion Eggleston was a Minister.1 Rev. Carol Marion (Eggleston) Leach, 77, of Port Crane, formerly of Chenango Forks. Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Spiritual teacher, devoted friend and neighbor passed from this life to her heavenly home on September 1, 2017 after a short illness. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Clyde F. and Gertrude Eggleston; husband, Frederick P. Leach and her sister, Virginia M. Young. She is survived by two brothers, Paul T. Regan of Glen Aubrey and Frederick Eggleston of Port Crane; sister, Diane Silvernail-Trotter of Binghamton; daughters, Ellen (James) MacDonald and Paula Lamparter, both of Port Crane; grandsons, Michael Voorhees, Castle Creek, Kevin Lamparter, Port Crane and Zachary Leach, Endwell; as well as 4 great-grandsons, Xavior, Noah, Ethan and Nicholas. Carol loved to help others and volunteered at Action for Older Persons, and Good Shepherd Fairview Home, where she provided a caring ear and spiritual guidance to many of the residents. She also spent time in New Orleans to help with clean up and spiritual aid after hurricane Katrina.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 7 p.m. at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango Street, Greene, New York. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. before the service. A private burial will be at South Street Cemetery, Triangle at the family's convenience. Condolences may be sent to the famly at www.rootfh.com. The family would like to send special thank you to the staff at Good Shepherd Fairview for the loving care they provided.
