US Army- WWII.1 William (Bill) Clyde Birmingham was a Firestone Employee.2 William (Bill) Birmingham, 92, died Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at McLaren's Chapel with burial at Resthaven Cemetery.

Bill was born in Des Moines and was a lifelong resident of West Des Moines. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked at Firestone for 25 years. He was a member of Local 310 United Steel & Rubber Workers.

He is survived by his sons, Rick (Diana) Birmingham of West Des Moines and Tom Hesseltine of Des Moines; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his wife Vicki, daughter Tamara, son Bill, three sisters and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until service time Wednesday at McLaren's. Memorial contributions may be made to Bill's family.
