Freda was born in Bushkill on April 8, 1933, the daughter of the late Albert and Emily (Schoonover) Howey and was a graduate of East Stroudsburg High School.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents by her husband, Lawrence Dickison, who passed away on Sept. 11, 2008, and a son, Frank Dickison, who passed away on Dec. 16, 2008.

Freda will be sadly missed by sons, Fred Dickison and his wife, Valerie, of Buffalo Junction, Va., and Jack Dickison and his wife, Karen, of Bushkill; daughters, JoAnn Johnson of Bushkill and Matilda Dickison of Stroudsburg; sister, Alberta Kitzhoffer and her husband, James, of Analomink; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Born on June 28, 1938, in Bushkill, she was the daughter of Albert and Emily (Schoonover) Howey.

Mary Ann owned and operated Mary Ann's Dairy Bar in Analomink since 1968. She was a graduate of East Stroudsburg High School Class of 1956. Mary Ann was a member of the Bushkill Reformed Church, a member of Newman Smith American Legion Post 514 of Bushkill and a member of Women's Business Association of North East Pennsylvania. She was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed nature. Mary Ann also loved children.

Surviving are daughters: Rose Mary Stolfer and husband, Robert, of Analomink, Peggy Ann Dickison of Chilhowie, Va.; son, Richard A. Dickison Jr. of Cresco; grandchildren Mary Ann Jennings and husband, Walter, of Analomink, and Jake Dickison of Chilhowie, Va.; great-grandchildren Laif and Dakota Jennings, both of Analomink; companion Donald Utter of Dingmans Ferry; sisters Freda Dickison of Bushkill and Alberta Kitzhoffer and husband, James, of East Stroudsburg; many nieces and nephews; and many aunts and uncles. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by son, Boyd Dickison, and brothers Albert and Peter Howey.

Norma E. (Rinker) Howey, 73, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, at the home of her daughter, Dawn, and companion, Jeffri Bartholomew. She was the widow of Albert Howey.

Born on Dec. 10, 1935, in Scotrun, she was a daughter of the late Wade and Lulu (George) Rinker. Norma and her husband were former caretakers of the English Setter Club of America in Medford, N.J., and the Lehman Lake Rod & Gun Club in Bushkill. They also owned and operated the Delaware House in Portland for many years, and she owned and operated the Ashland Country Store in Elmira, N.Y.

She was of the Lutheran faith.

For her retirement years, Norma relocated back to the Slate Belt area and lived at the Episcopal Apartments in Bangor, where she was involved in many activities. She enjoyed her time there with all her friends.

Norma was an avid bingo player and ran bingo at the East Bangor Fire Company. She enjoyed trips to many casinos and was the captain of the womens pool league throughout the Slate Belt area. She loved playing cards and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are three children, Barbara Smit and her husband, Josef Smit, of Gettysburg, Dawn Howey and her companion, Jeffri Bartholomew, of Saylorsburg and Clifton A. Howey and his wife, Deborah Magda, of Bangor; five grandchildren, Amber Waters, Jerryd Barto, Hilton "Buster" Strunk, Tyler Howey and Mick Howey; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, George Rinker and John Rinker, both of Scotrun, Wade Rinker of Cresco and Frank Rinker of Reeders; a sister, Mary E. Turner of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg, with the Rev. Alfred Ruggiero officiating. Immediately following the service, a celebration of Norma's life will take place at the Portland Hook & Ladder Firehouse on State Street in Portland. Private burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
