Richard O. Berhenke, 69, of East Moline, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.
There will be no funeral service or visitation. The body will be cremated. These were his wishes.
Richard Oliver was born Nov. 20, 1929, in Rock Island, the son of George O. and Dorothy M. (Beintema) Berhenke.
He was an industrial machinist and had worked at J.I. Case Co. in Rock Island, Farmall, Rock Island, John Deere Planter-Plow Works and the Rock Island Arsenal. His last employment was at Bradley Machine and Tool in Rock Island (1979). He was the owner and operator of Tri-City Tree Service for 30 years.
He was a former member of the United Methodist Church in Rock Island.
He enjoyed working in the timber. His hobbies included fishing.
Survivors include daughters, Marilyn O'Hanlon, Port Byron, and Connie Hansen, Hillsdale; sons, Dennis Berhenke, East Moline, and Chris Berhenke, Rock Island; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth Berhenke, Andalusia, Gerald Berhenke, Rock Island, George Berhenke, Moline, Ernest Berhenke, Andalusia, and Daryl Berhenke, Silvis; and sisters, Arlene Clure, Hampton, Delores Hanson, Rock Island, and Joanne Sutton, Linden, Ill. He was preceded by his parents; a daughter; a sister; and a brother, Don.
