Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of Darrayl D. Berger of S. 1st St., Lehighton, and Marlene Becker of N. 3rd St., Lehighton.

Paul K. Mermon, 38, of Weatherly R.1, died Saturday at 662 Lincoln St., Hazleton. The Luzerne County Chief Deputy Coroner John J. Peters said the cause of death is pending autopsy results.
Mermom was the husband of the late Katharine A. (Berger) Mermon. He was a truck driver for Blue Ranch Peat Co., White Haven, Luzerne County.
Born in Lehighton, he was a son of Eugene P. and Silvia (Solt) Mermon of Lehighton.
Survivors: Parents; son, Ronald at home, and brother, Eugene Jr., and sisters, Jean, wife of James Sherry, Jane, wife of Gene O'Brian, Joan, wife of Tim Polk, and Jill, wife of LaMar Fronheiser, all of Lehighton.

1 Richard A. Maggio, Sr., 48, of Coatsville RD 6, died Saturday in Brandywine Hospital, Cain Township, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Joan Bergeron Maggio.
Bornin Hazelton, he was the son of Concetta Lio Maggio of Hazleton and the late Louis R. Maggio. Mr. Maggio lived in the Coatsville area since 1958. He was a graduate of Pennnsylvania State University, Class of 1958, where he was a member of the Blue Band, Symphonic Band and the ROTC. He served in the Army Reserves after graduation.
Mr. Maggio had been a teacher at Rainbow Elementary School, Coatsville Area School District for the past 28 years. He was a member of the Downingtown Friends Meeting; president of Project Together, Coatsville; past president and member of the Coatsville Area Teachers Association; secretary of the Coatsville branch of the NAACP; van driver for the Church of the Exceptional; a board member of the Coatsville Food Cupboard; a performer in Lukena Steel Band; and a member of the National Education Association, the Pennsylvania State Education Association, Phi Delta Kappa and the Del-Chester Musicians Union.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Richard A. Jr. of Coatsville; three daughters, Greta Kennard of Glenmoore; Deborah Maggio of Downington and Mary Cunningham of Coatsville; four granddaughters; one grandson; and one brother, John L. Maggio of Hazleton.
Funeral service and interment will be private. Relatives and friends may call at the Robert A. Harris Funeral Home, Coatsville, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p..m.
