2 John (Jack) Francis Carroll was an Owner-Franklin Diner/ Supervisor of Bill Room (General Assembly-Senate.)
1 John F. "Jack" Carroll died Saturday, March 20, 2005, at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, folllowing a short illness. He was 69.
Born on June 27, 1935 in Frannklin, he was the son of ther late Edwin T. and Lottie (Lanterman) Carroll.
He was a lifelong resident of Franklin.
He served for four years in the Army, and was a member of the Army Intelligence Service. Mr. Carroll and his family owned and operated the Franklin Diner for over 50 years.
He also served the State of New Jersey as the supervisor of the Bill Room for both the General Assembly and the Senate for over 20 years.
Mr. Carroll was on the Franklin Borough Council and served as Mayor for four years.
He was a past chairman and member of the Sussex County Municipal Utilities Authority from its inception 24 years ago.
Mr. Carroll was also a member of the Wallkill Valley General Hospital Board (Saint Clare's Hospital) in Sussex.
He was a past president and member of the Franklin School Board and a member of the Lakeland State Bank Board.
He also served on several other boards and committees throughout Sussex County.
Mr. Carroll was an exempt member of the Franklin Fire Department and helped build Mitchell Park in Franklin and the new firehouse for the borough.
He was also a member of the Wallkill County Club in Franklin.
His wife, Joyce (Glas) Carroll, died in 1993.
He is survived by two daughters, Jodi Carroll Larsen and her husband Glen of Hampton Township, and Jean S Gauthier and her husband, John of Franklin.
Also survived by a brother, Edwin Carroll, Jr. and his wife, Irene of Franklin; and two nieces and two nephews. A funeral Liturgy will be held Thursday, March 24, at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholice Church in Franklin.
Interment will follow at North Hardyston Cemetery in Franklin.
Friends may call at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main St., Franklin, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9.
