Robert (Rob) Glenn Reid was born on 26 September 1980 in Dallas, Dallas, Texas.

Robert Glenn Reid, 34, passed away suddenly Saturday, April 11, 2015 in Lewisville, TX. Rob was born on September 26, 1980 in Dallas, TX to his parents William Leo Reid Jr, and Patricia Jean Sterry Reid Freeman. Rob is survived by his parents, step-father William B. Freeman, daughter, Gennavieve (Genna) Reid, step-son Micam Kwilas; brother William Leo Reid III, step-brother Caleb Freeman, and step-sister Amanda McConnell; as well as his sweetheart Britani Williams; and aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
Rob graduated from Boswell High School in Fort Worth in 1999, and graduated from the House of Isaiah (a men's faith based long-term drug and alcohol recovery program) April 1, 2002. After graduating from the program Rob continued working at the House of Isaiah helping to expand the facility from 30 to 80 beds. As intake coordinator he counseled families that were looking for help for drug dependent loved ones. He also performed Bible studies where he realized his love for preaching. Since 2007, Rob served as a member of the Board of Directors for the House of Isaiah.
He attended Christ for the Nations for a year and then went on to graduate from Southwestern Assemblies of God University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies in July 2006. He attended Dallas Theological Seminary and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Theology in New Testament Studies in 2009. He had been working on his Ph.D. in New Testament and Early Christian Literature from Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University.
Rob and Christine Kwilas were married on April 1, 2007 and later welcomed their beloved daughter Gennavieve Madeline Reid, known as Genna, the light of Rob’s life. She was deeply cherished and loved and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for her; it was all about Genna.
In his short life span, Rob touched the lives of so many people from varied backgrounds. As a recovered addict, Rob was eager to share his experience and help guide others on a path to lasting recovery. He was an inspiration to so many that knew him.
Rob worked as Associate Pastor at RockPointe Church from 2007-2011. He was the founder of Rob Reid Ministries, a preacher, and a teacher. Many of his sermons are on cassette tape, and CDs. Rob authored a book “Recover All: A Guide for Families in Understanding Addiction” which was published in 2007. He had written this book for addicts and their families to help them better understand and better cope with the many facets of recovery. He co-authored a book, “Trajectories in the Book of Acts”, which was published in 2010. Rob has authored several blogs on the subject of drug addiction including those that provide resources to a growing suburban heroin epidemic as well as blogs discussing imperial-critical biblical criticism and philosophical hermeneutics.
While tirelessly remaining active in his work related to drug addiction and to his biblical studies, Rob's most recent career path had been as an account executive and senior sales executive at Alliance Technology Group and RPI-CS, Inc., solution providers of technology and information technology services.
Rob did things to the fullest. Half-way was not something Rob knew how to do. He was LIFE. He was always smiling and you were blessed if you had Rob in your life even for a moment. Rob’s life was too short here on earth but he will live forever with the Lord. Rob went to live with the Lord on April 11, 2015. He will forever be in our hearts and lives. Honor him by living your life to the fullest!
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Betty Sterry of Dallas, TX and paternal grandparents, William L. and Margaret Reid of Richardson, TX.
