Contributed by Victoria Warren, Jan 22, 2004 [vew213@aol.com]. Total records = 483.
Billings Township Cemetery is located on the north side of Estey Road, approximately nine miles south of M-61, and approximately four miles east of M-30, in Billings Township, Beaverton, MI.
Billings Cemetery is a pretty, well kept cemetery, not very large. It is bordered on the west by the Tittabawassee River. There is a sign that tells you, "No Fishing From the Cemetery." The river makes for a very pretty view while walking through this cemetery.
The east side borders a residential area. There is quite a contrast between the two sides of the cemetery. The river side has a more country feeling, with large trees and bushes. The river side is the older side with more of the older markers. The east side has more of a city feel to it, with more of the newer burials being done there. There is still
some room for future burials.
Billings Township Cemetery, also called Free Will Baptist, was recorded by reading all of the tombstone
inscriptions. This was done in late September, and early October of 2003 by Timothy Kemp and Victoria Warren.
Other than approximately four unreadable stones, this is a complete list of all known burials.
