He is also survived by two sisters, Marion (Stan Wright) and Ariel McLaren; sisters-in-law, Edith Wintemute, Patsy Wintemute, Agnes Sailor, Blanche Tomik, Mabel Loyst and Mable Pitchko; many nieces and nephews and special friend, Mable Collar.
Junior was predeceased by his parents Adrian and Georgia; brothers, Herb and Lloyd; nephews, Kenny and Darrell Wintemute and grandsons Cameron Wintemute and Quinn Yarmoloy.
Junior was born in Sherkston, Ont. on Jan. 21, 1921, and raised south of Fort Macleod where he still resided on the original family homestead.
He and Magdaline Pitchko were married on March 29, 1944.
Junior was a pioneer in the trucking industry, purchasing his first truck at the age of 18. He continued this career, along with farming, for many years. Throughout his working life, Junior became well known in many areas of Alberta and British Columbia for his hard work and unequaled generosity.
To drop into JR and Pug’s for a visit was to be treated to their warmth and hospitality. When Junior wasn’t hard at work, he loved gardening, camping, fishing and playing cribbage with his family and countless friends. He especially enjoyed the crib tournaments at the Legion where he was an affiliate member for more than 40 years.
Then, if there were any spare moments left, you would find Junior quietly doing his crossword puzzles. However, nothing gave him greater happiness than family get-togethers.
Thinking of Junior will bring many fond memories, but what he was most respected for was his steadfast honesty, and humanitarian acts of kindness. He was a man who could always be trusted to keep his word.
A celebration of Junior’s life was held at Eden’s Funeral Home, Fort Macleod on Monday, Oct. 27, 2003 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Peter Walker officiating. Cremation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Junior’s memory to the Salvation Army, 1218 Second Ave. S., Lethbridge, Alta., T1J 0E4.

On March 17, 2015, Marion Wright, at the age of 96, went home to be with her Lord. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley, in 2013.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Gerri (Don) Nicholas; son Richard Wright; grandchildren: Donna (Carlos) Hernandez, Dave (Orla) Nicholas, Doug (Cathy) Nicholas, Jacob Wright; six great- grandchildren: Maria, Jordan, Peter, Joshua, Lindsay, Allison.

Marion had a deep faith in God. She was devoted to her family, loved cooking and baking, playing bridge and was a skilled seamstress.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Southgate Good Samaritan Care Centre for the care and compassion extended to Marion. A Celebration of Marion's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on April 17, 2015 at Sherwood Park Alliance Church, 1011 Clover Bar Road, Sherwood Park, AB. Dorothy slipped from the loving environment of Forest Heights Long Term Care Centre, Kitchener into the presence of her Savior on Sunday, April 28, 2013, in her 98th year. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Lillie (Wintemute) Sherk; sister, Margaret Hasty; and brothers, John, James, Mark and Gordon Sherk. Cherished sister of Katheeln Sherk of Kitchener, Coral Lutz of Virgil and Marion Sandler and her husband Stanley of North Carolina. Dorothy was a special friend to her many nieces, nephews and their families. Dorothy's life reflected am almost century-long commitment to Jesus Christ and His gospel. Herself a brillant scholar, Dorothy became a source of knowledge and wisdom for countless students, an ever-ready helping hand for family and friends, a confidant and comforter for the forgotten and unloved, a door-opener for a long stream of oppressed refugees. An untiring warrior for Christ, she led Bible studies since her earlier teen years. church leaders looked to her for guidance because of her quiet faith and wisdom. She and her home were always open to pop-in visitors or six months stays; her home was always fun and cheerful and was often a full house. Her financial no-strings- attached generosity gave countless people a start, a reprieve, or just help along the way. Dorothy was the ultimate doer of the Word. She loved God with all her mind, soul and strength, and loved her neighbor as herself. Thanks be to God! Obituary

Dorothy slipped from the loving environment of Forest Heights Long Term Care Centre, Kitchener into the presence of her Savior on Sunday, April 28, 2013, in her 98th year.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Lillie (Wintemute) Sherk; sister, Margaret Hasty; and brothers, John, James, Mark and Gordon Sherk.

Cherished sister of Kathleen Sherk of Kitchener, Coral Lutz of Virgil and Marion Sandler and her husband Stanley of North Carolina. Dorothy was a special friend to her many nieces, nephews and their families.

Dorothy's life reflected am almost century-long commitment to Jesus Christ and His gospel. Herself a brillant scholar, Dorothy became a source of knowledge and wisdom for countless students, an ever-ready helping hand for family and friends, a confidant and comforter for the forgotten and unloved, a door-opener for a long stream of oppressed refugees. An untiring warrior for Christ, she led Bible studies since her earlier teen years. Church leaders looked to her for guidance because of her quiet faith and wisdom. She and her home were always open to pop-in visitors or six months stays; her home was always fun and cheerful and was often a full house. Her financial no-strings-attached generosity gave countless people a start, a reprieve, or just help along the way. Dorothy was the ultimate doer of the Word. She loved God with all her mind, soul and strength, and loved her neighbour as herself. Thanks be to God!
