Shivley, Darrell- Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Tuesday, December 18, 1990, at St. Luke's Hospital after a lengthy illness. Age 77 years. He was the son of the late Frank and Ona Shivley. He was born June 21, 1913 in Osceola County, Mich. He married Mabel Wesson Nov. 15, 1935 in Saginaw. She survives him. He was a retiree of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local No. 85 and had been employed as a welder for the John E. Green Company for many years until his retirement in 1975. Surviving besides his wife are one daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Ted Damzyn, Saginaw; one grandson, Berry Damzyn; one granddaughter and her husband, Wendy and Michael Millar, all of Saginaw; a beloved great-granddaughter, Gabriella Millar, at home; also surviving are two sisters, Wilda Brownlee, Saginaw; Patricia Dammann and her spouse, Robert, Essexville. He was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters, Joseph, George and Robert Shivley, Ellen Guthrie, Mabel Temple and Ida Petrimouix.

Funeral service will take place 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 20, 1990 at the Cederberg Funeral Home, 403 N. Michigan Ave. Rev. Thomas Cundiff will officiate with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Warren Ave. Presbyterian Church or the Visiting Nurse Association.

He married Ida May Shivley in 1949 in Old Mexico. She survives him. He was a member of the Moose Temple, a veteran of World War II, and for the past 13 years had been employed at the Bruno Martin Sheet Metal and Roofing Co. Surviving, besides his wife, are two daughters and one son, Diana, Marsha and Robert Petrimouix; one stepson, William W. Gray; two brothers and five sisters, Fred Petrimouix, Saginaw; S/Sgt. John Petrimouix, serving with the U.S. Marines in California; Mrs. Leo (Thelma) Munsey and Mrs. Gerald (Dorothy) Schweinsberg, both of Bay City; Mrs. Virgil (Maxine) Houle, Grand Haven; Mrs. John (Thresa) Northrup, Carrollton; Mrs. Donna Madison, St. Charles. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, James R. and Ronald M., both of Freeland; two sisters, Willa Brownlee, Saginaw; Mrs. Robert (Patricia) Dammann, Saginaw; one brother, Darrell Shivley, also of Saginaw. He leaves many nieces and nephews. Two brothers and three sisters predeceased him.

Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, 1985 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road, off State. Rev. Frank B. Cowick will officiate with burial at Eastlawn Cemetery. Friends may call after 7:00 p.m. Monday where the family will be present from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday and 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Tuesday, April 9, 1996, st Sun Valley Manor after a lengthy illness at the age of 86 years. Mabel E. Wesson was born to William Wesson and Virginia DeLude on March 23, 1910 in Carrollton, Mich. She was married to Darrell Shivley on November 15, 1935. She had been employed by Carrollton concrete and at Carrollton Schools as a secretary. She ws a member of the Carrollton P.T.A. and for many years served on the Carrollton School Board. Surviving are one daughter, Jean and her husband Ted Damzyn; one grandson, Barry Damzyn and a granddaughter, Wendy and her husband Michael Millar. Two very special and loved great-grandchildren, Gabrielle and Ian Millar. She was predeceased by her husband Darrell; two sister, Edna Kuebler and Catherine Wesson, a grandson, Timothy Damzyn and many sisters and brothers-in-law.

Funeral service will take place Friday, April 12, 1996 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cederberg Funeral Home, 403 N. Michigan Ave. Rev. Thomas B. Cudiff will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. Thursday where the family will be present from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
