Surviving are his wife, Inez; four sons, Cecil, of Beaverton, Bruce, of Midland, Glenn, of Flint, and Gerald, of Clare; four daughters, Mrs. Lottie Wallace, of Omaha,
Nebraska, Mrs. Ralph Allen, of Clare, Mrs. C. D. Premo and Miss Mary Hodges, of Lansing; two brothers, Claud Hodges, of Lachine, and Frank Hodges, of Los Angeles, California; one sister,, Mrs. Lottie Rafferty, of Buffalo, N. Y.; also 16 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Beaverton Latter Day Saints church with burial in the Beaverton cemetery. Elder B. Doty officiated. Gladwin County Record dated 3-19/1947 Column - 3 Page - 1.

Hodges, formerly Miss May Butterfield, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ira Butterfield, died at her home at Harrison, Michigan, on Thursday, March 18, of a cancerous affliction. She leaves her husband Ernest E. Hodges, four sons and four daughters; two sisters, Milo Fitch of Marlette, Mrs. Cyrus Barrett of North Branch township; two brothers, Harry Butterfield of Detroit, and Frank Butterfield of Smiths' Creek, also many friends of this vicinity.
Funeral and burial services were held Sunday at Beaverton, Michigan. Deceased, who died at the age of 50 years, was born in North Branch township on Dec. 27, 1886, and grew to womanhood in this community, residing here until a few years after her marriage."

Born in Mayville, April 21, 1907, he lived in Gladwin County from 1919 to November 1988. Mr. Hodges retired in 1972 as a still operator for Dow Chemical Co. He was a deacon in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Mr. Hodges and the former Ruth Bailey were married April 14, 1940, in Houghton Lake.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 daughters, Volante Russell of Chicago, Roselyn Bankson of Elyria, Ohio and Linda Monroe of Stanton Island, N. Y.; one brother, Glen of Flint; 4 sisters, Lottie Knee, Mary Rickard, Sylvia Premoe of Mesa, Ariz, and Beatrice Allen of DeBary, Fla.; and 7 grandchildren. Two brothers, Bruce and Gerald and a sister, Mable Nixon, preceded him in death.
Services were held Saturday at the RLDS Church in Elyria with
Elders Ray and Ruth Campbell officiating. Another service and
burial will be held in late March at the Beaverton RLDS Church in Beaverton.
