Mr. Donathan died May 23 at Lexington.
he was born Sept. 9, 1906 to Martin L. and Emma Donathan at Leedy, where he attended school. Mr. Donathan married Ester Montgomery Feb. 2, 1952 at Norman. He was a member of the Golby Baptist Church and attended Wildwood Community Church in Norman. He came to Norman in 1961 from Goldby and was retired from Tinker Air Force Base and farming.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Beulah Donathan; a son, M. L. Donathan; a stepson, Dan Montgomery; three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Esther, of the home; three sons, Wade Donathan, Jr. of El Paso, Tex., Joseph Donathan of Norman and Michael Donathan of Oklahoma City; three stepsons, Alton Montgomery and Jim Montgomery of Norman and Dale Montgomery of Noble; three daughters, Lottie Parnell of Oklahoma City, Dorothy Martin of Dover, Ohio and Mickey Harryman of Lexington; one stepdaughter, Wanda Sain of Atoka; 32 grandchildren and numerous great and great-greatgrandchildren.

Lela was born on Sept. 27, 1915, in Weatherford, to Harvey and Mary Durham. She moved with her family to Brownfield in 1924. She attended school in the Harmony Community. She married Joe A. Merritt on March 8, 1948, in Brownfield. He preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 1988. She was a member of the Church of the Living God. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Rice and her husband, Roy, of Stamford. She is also survived by two granddaughters: Crystal Melcher and her husband, Jeff, of Lubbock, and Deidra Baker and her husband, Chance, of Wellman and by six great grandchildren; Desiree Melcher, Brittany Melcher, Ryan Melcher, Tristan Baker, Harlee Baker, and Dylan Baker. She is also survived by two sisters: Delphia Davis of Hart and Rosetta Henderson of Brownfield, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held for M. L. "Buddy" Donathan, 56 of Purcell, today (Thursday, March 26) at 2:30 p.m. in Wadley's Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery with military graveside services.
Mr. Donathan died Monday, March 23 in Wynnewood. He was born Oct. 11, 1935 to Wade and Beulah Donathan in Quemado, Maverick County, Texas.
He was raised in the McClain County area and attended school in Washington. He received his GED from Washington School System in 1971.
On May 8, 1953, He was inducted into the United States Army. He served his country for three years. He was honorably discharged on May 7, 1956, at Fort Lewis, Washington as a private first class. While in the military, he received the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. he was with the 633rd Engineer Light Equipment Co. He attended the 6th Armoured Division Specialist Training School at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., from July 7 to Sept. . 9, 1953.
Upon his discharge from the U. S. army. Mr. Donathan went to work for Tinker Air Force Base in 1957 as a freight rate specialist. He was employed at Tinker for 33 years before his retirement in 1990.
On July 14, 1957, He married Doris Elliott at the Fairview School House in McClain County. They made their home in Purcell for 22 years before Mrs. Donathan died in 1987.
Mr. Donathan is survived by his parents, Wade and Ester Donathan of Norman; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Beverly Donathan of Purcell; one daughter, Donna Donathan of Houston, Tex.; three brothers, Junior Donathan of Texas, Richard Donathan of Norman and Mike Donathan of Oklahoma City; three stepbrothers, Dale Montgomery and Alan Montgomery both of Norman and Jimmy Montgomery of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Mickey Harryman of Lexington, Lottie Parnell of Oklahoma City and Dorothy Martin of Ohio; Mother-in-law, Bertha Elliott Draughon; three grandchildren and many other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Beulah Donathan and his wife, Doris Donathan.
Pallbearers are Randy Elliott, Greg Elliott, Don Elliott, Perry King, Ira Perry and Tommy Steakley.
Honorary bearers are Rob Genson, Dr. Ed Lee, Don Wooley, James Wadley, John York, Jim Bolles, Richard Rains and Tom Baird.

Funeral services for Doris Elliott Donathan, 48, Purcell, were held Tuesday at the First Baptist Church. Rev. Eugene Snow officiated and interment was under the direction of McMahans Funeral Service Chapel.
She was born January 14, 1939 in the Goins community west of Purcell, attended the school at Fairview and graduated from Wayne high school in 1957. She was employed for eight years at the McCurdy Hospital and 17 years at the Purcell Municipal Hospital.
Doris was a graduate of the Norman Regional Hospital LPN school in 1970 and received her RN from the South Oklahoma City Junior College in 1981. She had been active in the American Red Cross, community affairs and was a part-time advisor to the Wayne-Payne LPN program. She was also a member of the Union Hill Baptist Church.
She died December 19 in the Purcell Municipal Hospital after a long bout with cancer.
She is survived by her husband, M. L. "Buddy" Donathan of the home; a daughter, Donna Donathan of Purcell; a son, Jeffery Donathan, also of Purcell; her mother and step-father, Bertha and Hugh Draughon, Purcell; two brothers, Don Elliott of Purcell; Fred Elliott of Coppers Cove, Texas; a grandson, Bryan Wayne Donathan of Purcell.
She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Elliott and a sister, Mary Frances.
Pallbearers were Richard Jenne, James Jenne, Bill Ray Coliver, Randy Elliott, Mike Donathan and Greg Elliott.
