Mrs. Harriett S. Ennis, mother of Mrs J. F. Weaver, died at the weaver residence in Gettysburg, at 3:15 A.M. Tuesday, October 6, following an illness of several weeks. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 o'clock this afternoon by Rev. C.D. Bullock in the M.E. Church here. Burial will be made in the family lot at the Lebanon Cemetery.
Harriet Russell was born in Newfane, New York, March 22, 1845. When she was 12 years old she moved with her parents to The state of Ohio where she grew to womanhood.
In 1864 she was married to Isaac J. Ennis in Williams County, Ohio, where they made their home until 1884, when they came to South Dakota, settling in Potter County.
To Thierry union two children were born, Josie L., now Mrs. J.F. Weaver, and Herbert I. Ennis of Volga. The husband of Mrs. Ennis preceded her in death, having passed away in 1896. His body was laid to rest in Lebanon Cemetery, and that of his faithful companion will be laid to rest by his side.
Since the death of her husband, Mrs Ennis has made her home most if the time in Gettysburg with her daughter, Mrs. J. F. Weaver, residing part of the time with her son, Herbert at Volga. Mrs. Ennis was a devote Christian having been identified with het church for about 60 years. She was a faithful member in the Gettysburg M.E. Church at the time of her death, being one of the oldest members on the church records. Her going writes the last page In a long and useful life, as she has contributed much to the help and comfort of others who will keenly miss her now that she is gone.
After several weeks of falling health Mrs. Ennis passed away at the age of 86 years, 6 months, and 13 days. Surviving are her daughter Mrs. J. F. Weaver of Gettysburg, a son Herbert I. Ennis of Volga, a brother C.F. Russell of Velva, North Dakota, a sister Nettie Simmons of Velva, North Dakota , eight grand children, six great grand children and one great great grand child; and also a host of friends and relatives who will mourn her greatly.

Fay Weaver Kerner, 91 of Crookston, MN, died at Riverview Hospital in Crookston on Saturday, December 21st, 1985, Graveside services were held on Sunday, December 29th at the Gettysburg Cemetery in Gettysburg, SD. Mrs Kerner was buried at Gettsyburg. The Rev. Lin Jennewein officiated the service.
Fay Kerner was born in Potter County, South Dakota on May 21, 1894, the daughter of J.F. and Josephine Weaver. She grew up near Lebanon, South Dakota and later worked in Gettysburg.
On June 19, 1918, she was united in marriage to Chester Kerner at Gettsyburg. The couple moved to Crookston shortly after their marriae, Mr. Kerner had served as Chief of Police in Crookston. He died on 1962.
Mrs. Kerner was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Crookston.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Elaine) Berndt of Brookings and three grandchildren.
She was preceded by her husband, two brothers,and three sisters.
Mrs. Kerner was sister to the late Blanche Klein of Gettysburg.
