Goldie Marie Thomas Hutchins was born in Warren, Joe Daviess county, IIlinois, October 19, 1889. She was the daughter of David and Mary Jane Thomas. In 1893 the Thomas family removed to Nebraska, making David City their home. In 1907 the family moved to Greeley county and later to St. Paul.

On January 6th, 1910, she was united in marriage with Sherman C. Hutchins of Hastings. To this union was born two sons, Sherman, jr., and Delmar. Mrs. Hutchins was a kind and devoted mother. She was a faithful Sunday school teacher, officer and leader of the youth. During the years when the family lived at Portland, Oregon, she was especially interested i n the Presbyterian church and Sunday school of that city. Recently she returned and renewed her friendship in St. Paul and was making her home here, when she was suddenly called away last Friday morning, March 9 th, at the age of 33 years, 4 months, 18 days.

She leaves besides her father, mother, a husband and two sons, one brother, Harry D. Thomas of Seattle, Wash., and three sisters, Mrs. Jesse Criss, Kearney, Nebr., Mrs. Bell Sheldon, David City, Nebr. and Mrs. B. H . Wilke, St. Paul, Nebr.

Services in her memory were conducted from the Presbyterian church on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. by Rev. Clarence A. Kircher, pastor. Interment was made in Elmwood cemetery.
