resided several years on the
farm now owned by Lynn Boyce.
Before her marriage, she was Miss
Katherine Hall, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. John Hall, and was born in Dayton
township. Her daughter, Sylvia,
now Mrs. Edwin McFarland, of Newton,
Kansas, and son, J. C. Dickerson,
of Denver, Colorado, accompanied the
body here and remained for a weeks
visit with relatives at Clifford,
Vassar and Mayville.*.

Prominent County Resident Served as State Solon, School Head
Cadillac, April 14, Ezra S. Hall, 76, Missaukee County farmer and former state representative, died at Mercy Hospital Sunday. Death was attributed to hardening of the arteries.
Prominent in Missaukee County politics, Hall was postmaster at Lake City in President Taft's administration. He also was school commissioner of Missaukee County for 16 years.
Born in Clandeboie, Ontario, Hall moved to Mt. Pleasant with his parents. He later taught school in Isabella and Missaukee counties.
He was married to Ann Ross of Evart in September 1888. She survives him. Other survivors are four sons; Lyle, at home; Curtis of Farmington, Oscar of Gaines, Arthur of Manistique; two daughters, Mrs. Kate Pearl (Robert) Skinner of Sheridan, Wyoming, and Mrs. Stanley Harrison of Sault Ste. Marie; four brothers, Alfred and Souris of North Dakota and John and Wesley of Alberta, and one sister, Martha of Los Angeles. He immigrated in 1882.

4 Lettie Howard was born in Oakland county, January 25, 1868. Later she moved to Tuscola county, with her grandparents. In 1887 she was married to William Hall. To this union three children were born, Mrs. Myrtle Heckox, of Lapeer; Mrs. Stella Cowles, of Silverwood; and Ralph Hall of Mayville.
She died at the lapeer Hospital, following an operation on Oct 28, 1933. Besides her children she leaves seven grandchildren, and one great grand child, two sisters, Mrs. Katheryn Kaufman, of Pontiac; Mrs. Mary Raymond, of Pontiac, four brothers, Sylvester and Frank of Pontiac; George, of Bad Axe; Roy of Alabama; and a host of friends.
The funeral services were held at Lapeer, being that she worked there for the last twelve years as employee at Michigan Home and Training School. Rev. Hemmingway officiating with burial at Dayton Center Cemetery where Rev. Marx had charge.
Charlotte Howard was living with Sylvester and Catherine Snover in the 1870 and 1880 Michigan Census.

Atkinson, P. Temple, Mrs.
Claude Rice, and Mrs. Dr. F, E.
Dodds, of Silverwood, rendered
three touching selections. Many
friends and neighbors attended
the services.
George Belles was born in
Canada, June 5, 1856. When a
babe his parents moved to Michigan
(actually Illinois). Until 25 years ago, the
deceased lived at Dayton since
then he has been a Mayville resident.
In the month of May, 1884, he was
united in marriage to Miss Effie
Wilsie, of Dayton, who preceded
him to that long home from
which none return, four year ago.
While visiting his sister, Mrs.
Frank Stout, he was taken sick,
which later on developed into
pneumonia. All that could be
done by kind and willing and
loving hands could not keep the
King of Terrors away, and Feb.
18th he passed away.
He leaves to mourn his loss
two sisters, Mrs. Frank Stout, of
Dayton, and Mrs. E. M. Siver, of
Detroit, also two brothers, Frank
of Silverwood, and William, of
Dayton, besides a host of friends.
He was laid away temporarily
in the Mayville vault, to be interred
later on in the family lot.*.
