BUSCEMI, RICHARD SEBASTIAN, 71, of Orlando passed away April 15, 2004. Richard was born December 19, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Orlando in 1955. Richard served his country in the Army and was discharged in 1952. He was the owner of Central Cycle Center for 25 years; where he helped out many people in the neighborhood before retiring in 2000.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Kay; loving son, Dennis of Orlando; and loving daughter, Diane Douglas of New York; his brothers, Joseph and Edwin Buscemi of Naples, FL; granddaughter, Shana Douglas of New York; uncle, Bruce Perks of Orlando; and cousins, June and Dolores of Orlando.

Obituary
Loyalty to the workplace and a love for Pistons basketball were the interests that fueled the passion of William Studebaker.

Mr. Studebaker -- a former executive with Buff Whelan Chevrolet and a longtime Detroit Pistons season ticket holder -- died Jan. 30 at his home after an extended battle with cancer. The Rochester Hills resident was 73.

"He was a funny guy and as rabid a Pistons fan as they come, and we enjoyed some wonderful times together," said longtime friend and Detroit Pistons play-by-play announcer George Blaha. "If you were ever having a ho-hum day and you were around Bill, it suddenly became a great day. His infectious sense of humor and love of life were clearly evident in everything he did."

Born in Detroit, Mr. Studebaker grew up in Dearborn and graduated from Fordson High School in 1956. He received a degree in liberal arts from the University of Michigan in 1960 prior to serving two years in the Navy as a supply officer aboard the destroyer escort USS Edmonds.

In 1976, Mr. Studebaker was hired by former college classmate and fraternity brother Buff Whelan as a manager at Buff Whelan Chevrolet in Sterling Heights. He was later promoted to vice president and general manager, a position he held for 30 years until his retirement in January.

"Bill was a tremendous asset to the company and a great friend to me during my transition to becoming president after my father's death in 2004," recalled Kerry Whelan, current owner and president of Buff Whelan Chevrolet.

"Besides being extremely supportive of me, he was widely admired by the entire staff for his character and loyalty. We were blessed to have him in our lives."

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; sons John Studebaker and Steven Jablonoski; daughters Kristen Gray Studebaker, Stephanie Campanelli and Stacy Jablonoski, and six grandchildren.

A committal service with Navy honors will take place at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Jefferson Avenue Presbyterian Church, 8625 E. Jefferson, Detroit.
