Besides his wife, the former Mary Shaw, and his mother Mrs. Maud Lafferty, he is survived by his stepsons Kenneth Petrie, Gary Petrie; son William Checkley Jr.; daughter Mary Checkley; stepdaughter: Mrs. Betty De Vos of Toronto, Grandson: Frank De Vos Jr. Also surviving are brothers Irwin of Lethbridge, Ross of Fox Valley, Sask., Russel of Chaplin, Sask., Ken and Stan both of Edmonton, sisters Mrs. V. Mason of Fox Valley and Lilias Rowan of Picton, B.C. Rev. T. Tarleton of St Pete's Church conducted the funeral at Templar Funeral Home, Mar 18 1972. The Pall Bearers were Arthur Robinson, Austin Gall, Darryl Hogg, Morris Baldwin, Jim McGimpsey, and Emmet Ferguson. Interment at Coburg Union Cemetery.
